Born in Canada, I currently live in Maine following many moves and travel opportunities. Solo travel to developing countries is an essential part of who I am. The constant change of venues, contrasts amongst cultures and the elements of surprise are what inspire me. I have always chosen to return with a traditional or contemporary representation of that culture, often in the form of jewellery. All of my designs represent a particular memory or experience from time spent in areas to which I have travelled.
The simplicity of metal and more specifically the traditional Japanese technique of mokume gane allude to my ideal of contrast and movement. My preference is to let the eye be drawn to the metal and utilize mostly unadorned constructs. My designs are of a contemporary feel, hand-crafted and custom made.
